Review | Benton - PHA peeling gel

A few weeks ago I got the package from Benton Cosmetics, and inside I have found this new PHA Peeling Gel. Immediately I gave it a try.

What is PHA? Poly Hydroxy Acids are a new generation of the well known AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids). Comparing to the AHAs, the PHAs do not increase the skin sensitivity to the sun. More than that, the PHAs are well known because of their moisturizing properties - the PHAs attract water molecules and are rich in antioxidants.

The key ingredients of Benton's PHA peeling gel are:

  • naturally derived cellulose - derived from cotton

  • third generation PHA lactobionic acid - used often in beauty saloons for glow-boosting treatments. It is very mild for skin and does not cause photosensitivity. PHA forms a moisture barrier and leaves the skin with a smooth texture

  • chrysanthemum morifolium flower extract - natural moisturizing water, has soothing properties

My thoughts: I am really impressed by this one!  So far, I am using this peeling gel from circa three and a half weeks, twice a week. It is really gentle! The texture is gel-like, it is a gommage with small grains of the cellulose. I am using the peeling on dry face and I like to massage it for 2-3 minutes. The cellulose clumps together and in a gentle manner exfoliate the skin.  Right after use, the skin is bright, moisturized, gently cleansed and what is most important for me, enlarged pores are minimized.

Also, I have tried the peeling gel on my elbows - Benton recommends to use the gel also on elbows, heels, ankles, etc.  I have noticed that this is a problematic area for a lot of people. The skin on the elbow area likes to be rough and dry. The peeling works miracles there too - skin is soft, almost baby like.

Overall I really do recommend this product. I know that for people with sensitive skin it is hard to find a good product, which would not be harsh and irritating. In this case, the Benton's PHA peeling gel seems to be a perfect choice as it does not contains any harsh chemicals, PEGS, volatile alcohols, artificial colorants or fragrances, or any other useless fuss. The peeling is dermatologically tested and it is suitable for people with skin concerns and helps to reduce the redness thanks to the chrysanthemum flower water extract it contains.
